                                                                     At North Douglas Preschool

 Julie Bomhof, our music teacher, has completed her Level 1 in Orff Music for Children.  The Orff Method is based on the idea that music should be fun, innovative and accessible to everyone.  Students learn by participating in playful, child-centred lessons and activities that cover the praxial concepts of music such as rhythm and tempo as well as its aesthetic qualities.

Sounds are intertwined with movement and speech in order to instill these concepts in the young child's body, if not yet in their understanding.  This preparation produces a great foundation for further musical exploration.

Lessons are 1 hour each (11:15am-12:15pm) including a 5 minute break.

Five to seven students are registered in each class.

The cost of the program is $10 per week. Payment of $60 (by post-dated cheque) is due at the beginning of the first class.
